The Marion Public Library is here to serve the residents of Marion County. Call the Library at (740) 387-0992 for more information or see the list of services below.
We support community-wide early literacy initiatives through My First Library Card and Ohio Governors Imagination Library.
Getting and using your library card
Library cards can be obtained at Marion Public Library. A valid photo ID and current address are required to register for a library card. If the address listed on your photo ID is not current, an additional piece of identification or mail with your name and current address will be needed.
Ohio residents aged 60 or older can register for an Ohio Department of Aging Golden Buckeye Card at the library. More information about the Golden Buckeye Card.
Identification is required at the time of registration to confirm your age and eligibility. This can be a driver’s license or state identification card.
Marion Public Library partners with many other libraries in Ohio to ensure access to a wide selection of reading material. If you aren't able to find what you're looking for, just ask us!
Any books not found in our collection may be requested in person or by calling the Main Desk at (740) 387-0992. Requests can take up to 3 weeks or more to be filled and you'll be notified when a request is filled, just like you would for other items.
Marion Public Library offers a full schedule of programing that keeps our rooms very busy.
We do not have spaces to offer to organizations for use or for rent.
